German admiral who commanded the German navy during World War II and tendered Germany’s surrender to the Allies on May 7, 1945. He was later sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment at Nuremberg trials. Lot of five signed items: a 6 x 4 cardstock photo of Dönitz speaking to some troops, signed in blue felt tip; an undated TLS, in German; a pre-printed thank you note, 6.5 x 4, signed by Dönitz adding a brief inscription at the bottom; a flight-flown commemorative cover, 6.5 x 4.5, signed in blue felt tip by Dönitz and T. M. Bulloch; and a felt tip signature, “Dönitz,” on a 5 x 3 off-white card, dated November 11, 1979. All but the cover are signed last name only. In fine condition. R&R COA.
