Hitler’s personal pilot. During the final days of World War II, Baur tried to convince Hitler to let him be flown out of Berlin; Hitler refused and thanked Baur for his long, faithful service. Baur then attempted to flee Berlin, and lost a leg in the attempt. A prisoner of the Russians until 1955, he died in 1993. Lot of seven items: four photos ranging in size from 4 x 5.75 to 8 x 10, each signed in blue felt tip; two photocopied title pages from his book Hitler at My Side, each signed in blue felt tip; and a souvenir typescript from his book Hitler’s Personal Pilot, signed in blue felt tip.
