TLS, one page, 7 x 9, Office of the Attorney General letterhead, January 15, 1962. In part: “Many thanks for your good note and for sending me several copies of your poem. I appreciate this thoughtful gesture as well as your good wishes and your prayers for my father.” In fine condition. Robert Kennedy’s father, American banker and industrialist Joseph P. Kennedy, served as ambassador to Great Britain (1937–1940). With his wife, Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy (1890–1995), he raised nine children, three of whom became prominent politicians.
