Old-style Coolidge naval commission

Attractive DS as president, one page, 15 x 19, January 24, 1928. President Coolidge appoints Edgar G. Oberlin to the position of “Captain in the Navy.” Signed at the conclusion in black ink “Calvin Coolidge,” and countersigned by the acting Secretary of the Navy. Document bears a very attractive vignette of Poseidon in his chariot on the high seas. In very fine condition, with a light overall shade of toning and some trivial edge wear.
