Anthony carte-de-visite portrait, signed in the lower border in black ink, “James Buchanan, 25 July 1867.” Information written in another hand on reverse reads, “James Buchanan 15 President, Inaugurated 1857, served 4 yrs from 1857 to 1861.” In very good condition, with a mild, but noticeable vertical crease through Buchanan’s face and in between first and last name of signature, light overall toning to lower border and mounting remnants and an ink “X” on reverse.
