During his tenure as America’s first Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton writes to Declaration signer William Ellery

The first secretary of the treasury, helped to stabilize our nation’s finances, became a bitter enemy of Aaron Burr and was killed by him in a duel in 1804. ALS signed “A. Hamilton,” one page, 8 x 10, May 30, 1793. Letter to Declaration of Independence signer William Ellery. In full, “Your letter of the 29th of April was duly received. You will find an answer to the inquiry that you make in a Circular letter of this date, which will be speedily transmitted. With consideration, I am, Sir, your Obed. Servant.” In fine condition, with moderate folds, some scattered mild toning, light show through from docketing on reverse and a small area of paper loss to left edge.
