Royal pardon for a bloke jailed on swag charge

DS, signed “George R,” one page both sides, 8.25 x 13, no date. King of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (1936–1952) and emperor of India (1936–1947). He acceded to the throne on the abdication of his brother Edward VIII and won enormous popularity by his dedication to his duties, especially during World War II. DS, signed “George R,” one page both sides, 8.25 x 13, no date. In part: “To the Governor of Our Prison at Wakefield and all others whom it may concern…whereas Robert Stonehouse was at the quarter sessions holden in and for the City of Leeds on the fourth day of January , 1944, convicted of receiving stolen property and sentenced to imprisonment for twelve months…in consideration of some circumstances represented…to pardon and remit unto him the remainder of the sentence passed up on him as aforesaid…cause the aforesaid to be discharged forthwith. In fine condition, with mild edge toning. R&R COA.
