Aviation pioneer. Doolitle served with great distinction as a general in the United States Army Air Corps during the Second World War, earning the Medal of Honor as the commander of the Doolittle Raid. Lot of four signed items includes: a TLS dated April 17, 1969, 7.5 x 10.25, which reads, in part: “Attaching copy of a talk I gave about two years ago which outlines some of the things we can all do in order to be better people and have a greater nation,” a pair of identical color satin-finish portraits of Doolittle in later years, each signed in ink; and “To Paul: With Every good wish” on a 5 x 4 page.
