Description

The young FDR writes to the man who became one of his most important associates

TNS signed “FDR,” one page, 3 x 5.75, January 8, 1925. Roosevelt writes to his then-new law partner, Basil O’Connor. In full: “Do you recall where you got this bird’s name? If you do I would like to tell him to set his mind at rest.” FDR and O’Connor became law partners in 1925, and O’Connor remained a trusted advisor to FDR until the President’s death in 1945; particularly notable were their joint humanitarian efforts related to the treatment of polio. In fine condition, with slightly trimmed top edge and file hole at left edge, away from signature. R&R COA.
