Disoriented, Barton confesses: “I don’t feel that I can come out of all this work and confusion and say anything that could interest anybody.”

Civil War nurse and founder of the American Red Cross. ALS, one lined page, 4.75 x 6.75, no date. Letter to a Dr. Albert, probably regarding an invitation to speak. In part, “I shall not be through with Lockowana Station an hour before that I suppose. I don’t feel that I can come out of all this work and confusion and say anything that could interest anybody.” In fine condition, with a light shade of overall toning and a bit of paper loss to left edge. R&R COA.
