In part, “I have your letter…inviting me to attend a Union Meeting in Albany…and approving, as I do, of the objects of the meeting, I should be happy to participate in its proceedings but I have…declined all similar invitations…Desiring if possible to keep my name out of the political papers, I have marked this ‘private.’” Light toning to top and bottom edge, moderate mailing folds and a few wrinkles and creases, otherwise fine condition.
