Souvenir typescript, one page, 11 x 8.5, consisting of Frank Borman’s prayer read on Christmas Eve as Apollo 8 orbited the lunar surface, as well as the Genesis passages read by all three astronauts. Borman’s prayer reads, “Give us, o God, the vision which can see thy love in the world, in spite of human failure. Give us the faith to trust the goodness in spite of our ignorance and weakness. Give us the knowledge that we may continue to pray with understanding hearts, and show us what each one of us can do to set forth the coming of the day of universal peace. Amen.” Signed under the prayer in blue and black ink by Bill Anders, James Lovell and Frank Borman, adding “Apollo 8.” Sheet also bears an Apollo 8 postage stamp and a First Day of Issue stamp, postmarked August 7, 1970.
