No time to socialize as Pershing goes to Valley Forge, “but the plans of the committee will take up my entire time on Washington’s birthday.”

TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, February 5, 1932. Letter to former Pennsylvania governor William Sproul pertaining to future travel plans. In part, “It is indeed kind of you…to offer Lapidea for my headquarters during my visit to Valley Forge…I wish it were possible to arrange to stop with you, but the plans of the committee will take up my entire time on Washington’s birthday.” Accompanied by a carbon copy of Sproul’s letter to Pershing and a small clipped new article relating to the visit. In fine condition, with expected folds, light block of toning to top left corner, as well as a small pencil notation and staple hole. R&R COA.
