TLS signed “W. McKinley,” one page, 5.25 x 7.25, personal letterhead, February 21, 1896. Letter to Colonel W. C. Brown. In part, “Your reply to Chairman Eagen is excellent. I also think well of what you say in regard to Gen. Howe. At the same time I would beg to ask you to be very cautious in what you do. Later advices further indicate that our friends can hold their own in Florida, unless the State Convention is stampeded.” Double matted and framed with an engraved portrait of McKinley, to an overall size of 19.75 x 14. In fine condition, with expected mailing folds. R&R COA.
