Check, drawn on the Office of Discount and Deposit of the Bank of the United States, 7 x 2.75, filled out and signed in another hand, payable to Harrison for $100.00, May 28, 1828. Endorsed on the reverse in black ink, “W. H. Harrison.” Harrison had just been appointed to serve as Minister to Columbia eight days earlier. Check is affixed by its top edge to a larger sheet.
