ALS, two pages on two adjoining sheets, 7 x 9, Vice-President’s Chambers letterhead, March 15, 1921. Letter to National Magazine editor Joe Mitchell Chapple covering his fame, his convention history and his beloved wife. In part, “I have read so much praise of myself that I am a little tired of it…If you are to print the article I wish to urge that you make the changes that I have indicated in behalf of the truth. It is an unrecorded fact that I had 40 votes on the first ballot. It was reported as 35 and my friends knowing that some were to leave me on the second ballot let it stand at 35…Mrs. Coolidge…is always a refuge when all else fails.” In very good condition, with scattered toning and soiling, creasing to top and bottom edges (lightly affecting signature) and some small separations along bisecting horizontal fold. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
