Hoover fondly praises his mentor, Woodrow Wilson: “a great leader through a great crisis”

After the United States entered the war, President Wilson appointed Hoover head of the Food Administration. He succeeded in cutting consumption of foods needed overseas, avoided rationing at home, and kept the Allies fed. Typed statement regarding the death of Woodrow Wilson, one page, 6 x 6.5, no date. A statement with a small photo of Woodrow Wilson imprinted. The statement reads, in part: “We all grieve at the loss of a great American who truly gave his life for national service. As time softens the asperities of the war, his stature as a great leader through a great crisis…his inspiration to lofty action, will bring to him the high appreciation and deep gratitude of our people.” In fine condition.
