In full, “Pay to Lewis La Poiux, seventy nine dollars & twenty three cents.” Monroe adds, “The cashier of the branch bank of the U States, Washington.” In very good condition, with several old tape and professional repairs to reverse, scattered light toning and soiling, several unobtrusive vertical folds, one through single letter of signature, a notation in another hand, and a bold signature.
