Description

Scarce letter from one of baseball’s early power hitters

Although he hit fewer home runs in his 13 major league seasons than Babe Ruth hit in 1926 and 1927, Baker was one of the premier power hitters during baseball's dead ball era. ALS, one page, 5.5 x 3.25, February 6, 1943. Polite letter to a fan. In full, “Just to say Hello! and hope this finds you in the best of health.” In very good condition, with overall toning to correspondence side, a bit heavier at edges, tape remnants to two corners and a few edge dings. COA Steve Grad/PSA/DNA, COA Mike Gutierrez, and R&R COA.
