Senator Kennedy agrees to help advertise the New Bedford Sea Scallop Festival

ANS signed “J. K.,” one page, 8.5 x 11, New Bedford Sea Scallop Festival letterhead, April 6, 1959. Letter to Senator Kennedy from New Bedford Sea Scallop Festival Co- Chairman, Charles Sharek. Sharek wrote to Senator Kennedy: “I would greatly appreciate it if you would consent to be photographed holding a “blown up” invitation to the Scallop Festival from the people of New Bedford.” Kennedy writes a short note under the interesting letterhead in black ink: “her arrangement has been carried out by Ted R.! JK.” Accompanied by a glossy 8 x 10 photo of Kennedy holding up the invitation, bearing a JFK library stamp on reverse and an 11 x 14 invitation to Kennedy to attend the festival. Mailing fold and notation to letter and a bisecting horizontal fold to invitation, otherwise fine condition. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
