DS in German, signed “Göring,” one page, 8.25 x 11.75, Reich Minister for Aviation and Commander–in–Chief of the Air Force letterhead, February 14, 1941. Göring sends instructions regarding the fighting of fire bombs. In part, “I instruct the Air Quartermaster General to draw up easily understandable directions in plain language on how to combat fire bombs.…In addition to providing information on the properties of the various types of English firebombs, is the drawing up of guidelines for the press and other propaganda material for the film industry and the press.” Göring writes in his hand after the sentence “In consultation with the Propaganda Ministry.” Letter goes on to say, “The Air Quartermaster General will in addition assume responsibility for developing and providing appropriate defensive appliances and devices that are to be made as easy to use as possible.” Göring adds his same handwritten line at the conclusion of the text as well.
