Original unsigned ink and watercolor sketch of abstract geometric forms on one side, stacked chairs on the other on a white 7 x 4.5 sheet. There is also a notation in Sutcliffe’s hand which reads “bench provides a strong horizontal.” Accompanied by a letter of provenance stating this artwork was originally included in one of Sutcliffe’s large sketchbooks submitted as an applicant for admission to the Royal College of Art.
