According to the book A Life In Letters, Reagan always found time for people who were uninvolved in his political world, like the Sisco sisters and their mentally handicapped brother, Joseph. When the Siscos wrote Gov. Reagan in 1972 asking for assistance, Reagan found state programs that would help them and also responded personally. They were in need of a rocking chair, and Reagan sent his own rocking chair as well as a personal check. This is another letter to the Sisco sisters, “Miss Sam” and “Miss Bertha,” regarding the arrival of a dog, horse or some other pet (?) that he has sent. TLS as president signed “Ronald,” one page, 6.75 x 9, The White House, Washington letterhead, June 25, 1986. In part: “I am delighted to hear about Dell-Ah-Dee’s arrival. She is, pardon the pun, ‘just what the doctor ordered!’ I know that you will have many joyous times ahead and I wish you much happiness with her.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. In fine condition. R&R COA.
