The newlywed Lindyberghs present a photo to Major Clarence M. Young, the man who helped Lindbergh obtain his federal license for The Spirit of St. Louis

Vintage 6 x 8.25 full–length photo of the newlywed Lindberghs posing outdoors, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Clarence M. Young, Charles A. Lindbergh,” and signed “Anne Lindbergh,” above her husband’s signature. Beautifully cloth matted and framed with a small informational plaque, to an overall size of 13.25 x 18.5. The Air Commerce Act of May 20, 1926, charged the Secretary of Commerce with fostering air commerce, issuing and enforcing air traffic rules, licensing pilots, certificating aircraft, establishing airways, and operating and maintaining aids to air navigation. Clarence Young became director of the Bureau of Aeronautics, which was a part of the Commerce Department. Later, in 1929, he became Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Air. In fine condition.
