1869-1936. Magician still famous for his work with cards, called The King of Cards. Fountain pen signature, “Best wishes, Howard Thurston, Christmas, 1927,” on a tan 4 x 2.75 sheet. Accompanied by a mailing envelope Thurston’s imprinted logo in the upper left. Also accompanied by a newspaper photo of Thurston with his daughter and a newspaper article with the subhead “Friends Say Magician Made Pact With Houdini, Doyle and Carter for Reunion.” In very good condition, with toning, adhesive residue on reverse from a previous mounting, small tear to first letter of inscription, bit of staining to first letter of signature.
