Cole Porter promissory note from his home town of Peru, Indiana

Composer and lyricist widely known for his urbane, witty lyrics and sinuous music. DS, one page, 8.5 x 3.5, December 15, 1942. Promissory note for ninety days for $1000 at the Wabash Valley Trust Compnay in Peru, Indiana at 5 per cent. Signed “Cole Porter” in fountain pen. In very good condition, with vertical fold between the names of the signature, “paid” stamp touches but does not obscure first letter of signature, a set of staple holes in the margin. R&R COA.
