Legendary organized crime leader. Lansky was the godfather of the national crime syndicate that emerged in the early 1930s as successor of the warring Prohibition gangs as well as the old-line Mafia. Forming friendships and alliances with Lucky Luciano and Bugsy Siegel, Lansky directed Murder, Inc. Check, 6.25 x 2.75, filled out in another hand and signed by Lansky, payable to Collector of Internal Revenue for $2774.50, June 14, 1937. Cancellation ink somewhat affecting the “M” in “Meyer,” cancellation holes, small tear at left edge, and one vertical fold, otherwise fine condition. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
