Original unsigned ink and pencil sketches on either side of an off-white 8 x 10 sheet. One side depicts a crowd scene, and on the reverse, several figures, including a young boy or girl, reclining on a chair. Accompanied by a letter of provenance stating this artwork was originally included in one of Sutcliffe’s large sketchbooks submitted as an applicant for admission to the Royal College of Art. The sketchbook was originally property of the Sutcliffe estate until sold at a Bonhams auction in July 2003. In fine condition, with a slightly rough edge where removed from the book, a few areas of trivial soiling, largely in the borders, affecting nothing. COA Roger Epperson/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
