Description

Emotional handwritten plea from Madonna for AIDS awareness, “Last year my best friend died of Aids. Watching him die was the most frightening experience of my life.”

Handwritten AIDS awareness public service announcement, signed “Love, Madonna,” on a light pink 8.5 x 11 sheet. Madonna writes, in full, “Last year my best friend died of AIDS. Watching him die was the most frightening experience of my life. Right now there is no cure for AIDS but there is a way to stop it from spreading. Don’t let fear keep you from knowing the facts. Read this booklet - then give it to your best friend. It just might save his or her life……It just might save your own.” This relates to the tragic death of one of two of Madonna's friends. Singer Martin Burgoyne was a good friend and former roommate of Madonna, when she lived in New York in the early eighties. Burgoyne died from AIDS in 1986 at the age of 23. Christopher Flynn was Madonna's dance teacher and mentor, who died of AIDS as well. In very good condition, with several folds, wrinkling, and diagonal creases. R&R COA.
