British philosopher and mathematician who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1950. TLS signed “Russell,” one page, 8 x 10, Plas Penrhyn letterhead, April 28, 1958. Polite letter concerning an upcoming speaking engagement. In part, “In spite of your kind suggestion, I would rather stick to speaking immediately after the Chairman and having a cold supper at the hotel afterwards. It is kind of you to come to fetch us on Friday.” Toning and remnants to top and left edge from previous tape and expected folds, otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
