Taggard to the rank of “Assistant Adjutant General of Volunteers with the rank of Captain.” Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Lincoln and countersigned by Secretary of War Edwin Stanton. Impressively double matted and framed with a color seated portrait of Lincoln and a small plaque, to an overall size of 36 x 30. In good condition, with handwritten text and both signatures light but legible, partial worn seal, even overall toning, moderate document folds and a slight reflective appearance as the document is encapsulated within a clear, archival mylar sleeve.
