Description

Candid Ritz Brothers, perfect for display!

Al, Jimmy, and Harry, known collectively as The Ritz Brothers, were the sons of Austrian-born haberdasher Max Joachim. After the three Joachim brothers graduated from high school, they decided to team up as a song-and-comedy act. The brothers began using the name "Ritz" for their nightclub act reportedly after seeing the name on the side of a laundry truck. With fourth brother George as their agent, the Ritz Brothers worked vaudeville and nightclubs until the mid-1970s. They broke into films in the mid-1930s and had a contract with 20th Century-Fox. They evolved into stars in their own right and some of their better known films include The Three Musketeers (1939), The Gorilla (1939) and Argentine Nights (1940), which also featured the Andrews Sisters. Lot of three terrific vintage candid glossy full-length photos, each 4.75 x 7 and each signed in fountain pen by the respective brother pictured. In overall very good condition, with scattered light creasing and surface impressions from adhesive residue on the reverse, a bit of trivial discoloration in the borders of two, Al Ritz’s signature light but legible. R&R COA.
