Union general, famous for his march “from Atlanta to the sea.” Original vintage 4.25 x 6.5 signed Sarony cabinet photograph of the General in full military regalia. Signed “W.T. Sherman - General - 1889” in the border below the image. On the reverse, he signs and inscribes, “To Miss Connie L. Muskie, With compliments of W. T. Sherman, General, New York, March 11, 1889.” In fine condition, with Sarony stamp over first three letters of “General,” light foxing to background of image and brush to date on reverse.
