One of the sadder stories in Hollywood history is that of Rondo Hatton. He was born in 1894 in Hagerstown, Maryland and was a victim of acromegaly, a disease which causes facial deformities. This most likely led to his film career rather than the usual passion for acting and to be sure, he was not an exceptional actor.
