British actor best remembered for his imposing presence in horror films and played Moriarity to Rathbone’s Holmes. ALS, one page, 7 x 11, February 18, 1926. Letter to an associate regarding a play sent to him. In part, “Thank you for your…information re: ‘Crichton.’ Yes the terms are a bit stiff. As a fine amount of money would have to be spent on a new production and the season is getting late, unless one has one’s own theatre, I think it would be commercially unsound to do the play at this time - at such terms.” In fine condition, with expected folds, some light toning and a transcript of the letter stapled to front.
