Liszt puts off his departure to meet a friend, ““I accept your friendly invitation for Friday and in its honor gladly postpone my departure until Saturday.”

Hungarian composer and pianist praised by Beethoven, he toured Europe with great success, gave up performing to become a conductor and teacher of artists like Wagner. ALS in French, signed “F. Liszt,” one pale blue lined page, 4.75 x 7.5, no date. Liszt accepts an invitation. Translated, in full, “I accept your friendly invitation for Friday and in its honor gladly postpone my departure until Saturday -During the afternoon tomorrow, Sunday, I will try to find you home.” In fine condition, with small notation to top left and intersecting mailing folds.
