Description

Von Weber sells his works for a song: “The Sonatas will follow soon. The one in C Major is the most brilliant, so I placed it last. We’re both such good friends that I’m not going to be difficult about the price”

Composer. He was a key figure in the development of German Romantic opera and had a considerable influence on Richard Wagner. ALS in German, signed “v. Weber,” one page, 8 x 9.25, October 29, 1810. Letter to his friend. In part, “The Sonatas will follow soon. The one in C Major is the most brilliant, so I placed it last. We’re both such good friends that I’m not going to be difficult about the price. Send me an honorarium…I leave it up to you to determine the amount. All that I ask is that you send it soon, because I’ll be continuing my travels shortly and, as you know, I’ll need money for that.” In very good condition, with light wrinkling, mostly to edges, tape repairs to small separations on reverse, a few creases, with one through signature and expected folds. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
