Description

RFK declines helping his brother Ted in his first senatorial campaign: “I appreciate your bringing this to my attention. However, I am not taking any part in Teddy’s campaign.”

TLS signed “Bob,” one page, 7 x 9, The Attorney General, Washington letterhead, April 17, 1962. A letter to Daniel Colokathis of Boston diverting information that would help his brother Ted’s first campaign to become Senator. In part: “Many thanks to you for your good letter and the information enclosed therein. I appreciate your bringing this to my attention. However, I am not taking any part in Teddy’s campaign and thus I would hope you would bring this material to the attention of John Culver who is handling things for him.” Kennedy has crossed out the more formal “Robert F. Kennedy” closing and signed the letter “Bob.” In fine condition, with a bisecting horizontal fold and a couple of small areas of trivial soiling affecting nothing. R&R COA.
