Lawyer who served as one of the prosecutors of British soldiers during the Boston Massacre trial; he later signed the Declaration of Independence for Massachusetts. DS, signed “Paine, Atty,” one page, 3.75 x 6.25, September 1770. Legal expenses, written in another hand and signed by Paine. Expenses include a writ fee, travel and eight days of attendance for a total of one pound, nineteen shillings and six pence.
