Unusual DS, one page, 8.25 x 10.75, State of California letterhead, April 8, 1899. Request from the government of California for the signatures of the Governor, Secretary of State and the Secretary to the Governor, as well as an impression of the Seal of New York. Boldly signed in fountain pen by Theodore Roosevelt. It is not known why the state of California would request Governor Roosevelt’s signature, making this an unusual and interesting document.
