In part, “Know all men by these present that I the within named John Hancock for & in consideration of eight hundred & ten pounds eighteen shillings six pence…paid by Geofrey Hathbone…in the state of Connecticut…before the delivery & seating of these present,” with remainder of document spelling out financial particulars. Boldly signed at the bottom in black ink “John Hancock.” Gilt suede matted and framed with a seated portrait of Hancock and a biographical plaque, to an overall size of 24.5 x 23. In very good condition, with several repairs to horizontal separations, some scattered light paper loss and document having been partially professionally silked, with none of the flaws affecting clear and bold signature.
