Legal document concerning the case of John Butler of Framingham, with Adams writing along the bottom “And the said John Butler comes and defends he and Smith that he never promised in money and form as the Attys had distrust against him and thereof must be,” signed at the conclusion “John Adams, and also signed again on the reverse “John Adams.” Document is mounted and framed in a hinged frame measuring 10.75 x 9.25, which is in turn affixed to a double matted and framed portrait of Adams and a small informational plaque, to an overall size of 28.5 x 19.5.
