“Buster (Keaton) was always drunk...At home Roddy was there one night when Buster got up, took a big drink of whiskey and went back to bed. When Roddy and Buster’s wife went in to check, they found Buster dead.”

Talented actress who has a successful but brief career; she retired from show business in 1931 and became a recluse. Rare ALS signed “Louise,” one page both sides, 6.75 x 8, September 27, 1983. Letter to a friend recounting Buster Keaton’s final days. In part, “I wrote about Buster Keaton in Roddy McDowell’s book…Buster was always drunk…At home Roddy was there one night when Buster got up, took a big drink of whiskey and went back to bed. When Roddy and Buster’s wife went in to check, they found Buster dead.” In fine condition, with some minor spreading to a couple words of text on reverse and expected folds. R&R COA.
