Description

One of the most influential composers, he created a unique and forward-looking style of innovative technical finish and poetic appeal. His works significantly break away from the concepts of traditional form and harmony. He is also considered the most important composer of piano music since Chopin. ALS in French, two pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 6.25, January 1900. Letter to his publisher. In full, “Want to find here, the expression the more sincere of my vows for this new year. Leave me there to join those of Lilly Debussy, they are more graceful and blonder but not less affectionate. If I had not been afraid of the obstruction of this day we would have been to carry you all that ourselves, but I think that you must have by over the head of the adequate demonstrations, so nevertheless I dare to employ this vocable.” In fine condition, with expected folds, with signature lying right along horizontal fold and a small spot of soiling to bottom of second page. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
