President Lincoln appoints a Naval Paymaster

DS as president, one page, 14 x 18, July 15, 1862. President Lincoln appoints “Frederick R. Curtis, I have nominated and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, do appoint him an Assistant Paymaster in the Navy from the 12th July 1862.” Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Lincoln and counter-signed by his Secretary of the Navy Gideon Welles. Document is dry mounted and suede matted and framed with a portrait of Lincoln and a small plaque, to an overall size of 31 x 25. In very good condition, with light overall toning, a worn but intact seal, slightly fuzzy appearance to text and signature a shade or two light, but completely legible.
