Revolutionary war hero who conquered the Northwest Territory and prevented the British from establishing control over the country west of the Alleghany Mountains. DS, signed “G. R. Clark,” one page both sides, 6.25 x 8.5, September 21, 1781. Document signed twice by Clark, certifying a sum owed to a carpenter “on the Western expedition under the command of Brigadier General George Rogers Clark.” Signed at the bottom by Clark and then again on the reverse.
