Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence and later Governor of Virginia. ALS signed 'Benj. Harrison,' one page, 6 x 7.25, November 6, 1770. Instructions to an overseas agent. In part, 'I wrote to you by post desiring you to send Leadbetter's Wife and Family here and that you would supply them with neccesaries for their voyage which I now confirm, and at the same time enclose you a letter from Leadbetter to his wife desiring her to come over. You have herewith an invoice of twenty bars of flour, which I wish to hand and that it may get to a better market than the last.' In very good condition, with light toning, partial tear to fold and letter affixed to a slightly larger sheet. RRAuction COA.
