Description

Rabin writes to the New York Assembly regarding Israeli Independence Day

TLS, one page, 8.25 x 12, Prime Minister letterhead, April 27, 1994. Letter addressed to the members of the assembly of the state of New York. In full, 'I sincerely appreciate the passage of Assembly Number 2024 Memorializing the Honorable Mario M. Cuomo's Proclamation of Israeli Independence Day and Israeli Independence Week. Your Declaration and statement reaffirm the mutual values and efforts of both our peoples and the goals to which we are both committed.' Only one year later, Rabin was assassinated by a radical conservative opposed to his peace plan. Wonderful content and a terrific association between Israel and the State of New York. In fine condition, with some light creasing to top edge. Comes with original presentation folder. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
