Handwritten essay, signed on the reverse 'Geo. S. Patton,' one lightly-lined page, 8 x 12.5, written by the fourteen year old Patton while attending Stephen Cutter Clark's Classical School in Pasadena, California, which shows his early fascination with the military. Essay is entitled 'The Story of a Greek Soldier,' and reads, in part, 'Though this march of ten thousand Greeks in itself was not a very great epoch in history, it showed to Greece, the weakness of the Persian Empire, which thought very vast was because of that vastness, weak.' Patton's teacher has added some notations and corrections to the essay, but has not graded it. In fine condition, with one horizontal and one vertical fold. One of the earliest Patton examples, with keen insight to his military interest. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
