As I am entirely in sympathy with that which the American Library Association has in mind...you may make use of the following statement...During the war the American Library Association performed a most conspicuous service to the four and one half odd millions of men and women who were engaged in the military...The standard of the Nation's civilization can be measured by the learning of its average citizen.'
